Meritocratic is a government type in Crusader Kings III; its rulers hold castle holdings. Ruler modifiers: Levy Size -50%, Feudal Vassal Tax Contribution -50%, Feudal government levy contribution -50%, Clan Vassal Tax Contribution -50%, Clan Vassal Levy Contribution -50% and 9 more. Its laws: Meritocratic Bureaucracy, Salary Budget Allocation, Ministry Budget Allocation and Military Budget Allocation. It needs All Under Heaven. Patch 1.20.0.3, from game/common/governments/00_government_types.txt.

Meritocratic is a Bureaucratic Government Form similar to Celestial, in which the Liege appoints characters as Governors, of which there are two types, Civil and Military.

Characters have access to Influence, Noble Families, and Family Mansions.

Independent Rulers have Legitimacy, while Vassals focus on obtaining Merit.

The Meritocratic system refers to the centralized Administrative government of China's neighbors, inspired by the Confucian bureaucracy.
