Game concept
Tenet Status
From the game's encyclopedia
Tenet Status is a Rite's stance on a Tenet or Doctrine. There are five possible stances:
• Unknown — the Rite has never heard of this Tenet or Doctrine.
• Known — the Rite is aware of it and has not ruled on its practice.
• Permitted — the Rite approves of the practice.
• Prohibited — the Rite forbids the practice.
• Core — the Rite both permits and actively promotes the Tenet.
A Rite's stance governs whether a Tenet or Doctrine can be picked when authoring or diverging a Rite, and which practices cost adherents spiritual penalties.
Tenet Status is distinct from a Character's Religious Knowledge, which is personal awareness, not the overall Rite's stance.
