Game concept
Divergence
The game also links it as Divergent.
From the game's encyclopedia
Divergence measures how far a Rite's Tenets and Doctrines have drifted from the parent Faith. A Rite that adopts Prohibited Tenets as Core is more Divergent.
High Divergence weakens the parent faith's Fervor making outbreaks of Heresy more common. A Rite that reaches 100 Divergence will be automatically declared a heresy and become a new Faith.
