Overextension

When you have more than 30 Counties in your Realm as a Duke, you suffer an Overextension Penalty, reducing your Tax income.

Becoming King or Emperor Rank removes this penalty.

Overextension is an entry of Crusader Kings III's in-game encyclopedia. The game explains it: "When you have more than 30 Counties in your Realm as a Duke, you suffer an Overextension Penalty, reducing your Tax income."
