Imperial Grace

From the game's encyclopedia

Imperial Grace represents the status bestowed onto a Tributary by Son of Heaven.

High Imperial Grace may result in special privileges being granted to the Tributary during Tribute Missions. At low levels of Imperial Grace, the Son of Heaven may exact tribute from you, and if it reaches zero it could mean the end of the relationship.
