Chaotic Era is an entry of Crusader Kings III's in-game encyclopedia (All Under Heaven). The game explains it: "Chaotic Era Types present times when the Empire is shattered, and the Mandate of Heaven is lost - potentially to be regained by those worthy." It is part of Dynastic Cycle.
