Accolade Succession

From the game's encyclopedia

Accolade Succession happens when an Accolade's Acclaimed Knight dies or becomes invalid.

The former Acclaimed Knight is immediately replaced. Young Courtiers and Knights trained due to the Accolade's Squires Aptitude are first favored as Successors; then other knights, other courtiers, wanderers, and finally newly-created Characters. Based on the Aptitude of the Accolade's Squires, the new Knight will receive increased Prowess Skill, Martial Skill, Hastiluder Trait Experience, and possibly other Skills.

After Accolade Succession, a small amount of Glory may be lost and the Accolade's Squires Aptitude is reset to now reflect the skills and experience of its new Acclaimed Knight

The Acclaimed Knight dying in battle, a duel or another honorable manner will negate Glory loss and improve the Accolade's Squires.
