Along with the Archbishopric of Hamburg, Rimbert inherited the mantle of the 'Apostle of the North' and the holy mission to convert pagan Scandinavia. From his seat at the very edge of Christendom, he looks out over pagan Scandinavia: where Danish and Swedish kings still worship pagan idols, where but the very first seeds of baptism have been sown.
