Iranian Intermezzo
From the game's encyclopedia
The Iranian Intermezzo depicts the tumultuous decline of the Abbasid Caliphate, in which Mesopotamia was ravaged by rebellions and power struggles and several Persian rulers asserted their independence.
Though Involved Characters can have many agendas, most will want to either become a Supporter of Caliphal Authority and work towards restoring the power of the Caliphate, or a Detractor of the Caliphate and try to destroy it.
The Struggle shifts between two Phases - Unrest and Stabilization.
