Patras Castle
patras_castleThe archaic acropolis of the city of Patras, rising on a hill of the Vodias mountains, was replaced by a fortification during the reign of Emperor Justinian. The castle has been uninterruptedly in use since then, always under the protection of the local patron, St. Andrew, and of the genius loci Patrinella, the Roman statue of a maiden.
